McDonald's Serves Up Greater Value With New McCafe Premium Brewed Coffee

Singapore, March 4, 2009

From tomorrow, McDonald’s “hot coffee” will be replaced by a NEW McCafe Premium Brewed Coffee.

Brewed from 100% Arabica beans, the new aromatic McCafé Premium Brewed Coffee is a better quality brew at the same great price.

“Great value is about giving our customers an enhanced coffee experience with our new McCafé Premium Brewed Coffee. We served 4.2 million cups of brewed coffee last year – and we hope that by serving up an even better quality brew at the same price, our customers will appreciate that McDonald’s is a convenient pit stop for premium coffee at great value – anytime, anywhere.” said Shirley Foenander, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, McDonald’s Restaurants.

With the introduction of the new McCafé Premium Brewed Coffee, McDonald’s now ONLY serves McCafé coffee on its menu, the other coffee flavours being McCafé Cappuccino and McCafé hot/iced Latte.

McCafé first opened at Great World City in 2003, offering premium specialty coffee at great value. In order to provide its customers with greater access to a great McCafé cuppa, McDonald’s introduced McCafé cappuccino and hot/iced latte in all its restaurants islandwide in 2007.

McCafé Premium Brewed Coffee is made from 100% Arabica beans from renowned coffee-producing nations of Brazil, Coast Rica, El Salvador and Toradja in Celebes, Indonesia and is available at $1.85* in all McDonald’s Restaurants.

*Except McDonald’s Takashimaya and McDonald’s Heeren
